These were taken the night of Monday February 10th. The lump originally started around Friday January 31st. I believe Monday the 1st is when I talked to Melissa and mentioned the lump started. I then saw Dr. Friedberg on Tuesday the 2nd just to show him how the lump begins. At that time it was a hard lump at the top of the incision scar. Over the past week it has gradually moved down the incision and become softer. I didn't expect it to advance to its current state. The last few swellings/lumps I had did not break and resolved on their own. This I believe is going to break. This is basically the way it looked the time it broke and those 3 green mucus "pods" came out containing what looked like knotted up thread. It currently hurts locally only. I do not really feel anything internally such as the dull ache I sometimes have. The lump itches very badly and it feels like a lot of pressure. I feel like breaking it or aspirating it to relieve this. Otherwise I feel really good. No fevers/chills/nausea/diarrhea/etc.

Wide shot to show the area in its entirety.

Close up
My girlfriend says the black part looks similar to what I thought was knotted up thread when it broke a previous time.
(Personally, I can't tell from the picture and cannot get a good view in the mirror)

Side view just to show how much it is sticking out.

UPDATE 1:42 AM

I woke up (for no particular reason) and felt wetness on my back. I went to the bathroom where I saw my shirt was spotted with a little blood. The lump broke but not bad. Nothing alarming. I had my girlfriend look at it and see if anything was right there. She saw the black spot she had seen earlier engulfed in a green "pod". She lightly squeezed the area until it came out. She described the exiting as the green ball was not attached to anything and freely rolled out and then fell onto the tissue. This is exactly how they came out before... I squeezed (like a pimple) and one by one they rolled out and landed on the counter top.

This is what she squeezed out onto a tissue.

A little collection of what looks like green mucus.

Closer

This is as close as I can get with my camera. It's been about 10 minutes and the green ball is already starting to get firm at this point. This is basically what they looked like before. If everything occurs like before the green stuff will dry up and all that will be left is the black part, which again... looked like  pieces of thread last time. I put everything in a zip lock baggie, I'm going to bandage my back and go back to sleep.

I feel completely fine by the way. Better than before because I don't feel the pressure/irritation anymore.

TUESDAY AM

I woke up feeling fine. I removed the bandage to shower and saw blood on the gauze... not much but it looked like it oozed slightly during the night. I Re-bandaged myself and am now at work. I brought the baggie with me and plan to call Melissa shortly. I don't know that there is anything to see on me... it really just looks like a ruptured blister at this point. I have the green "pod" but it has already started to deteriorate and these pictures show it fresh and accurately.

TUESDAY EVENING

This is what I look like tonight after wearing a bandage all day. There was no blood on the gauze. Wound started to scab up and the lump/incision seems to be relatively flat now. (the redness around the perimeter of the image is from the tape...sensitive skin)

I couldn't get a good image of what is left of the green "pod". The green mucus has all dried up and all that is left is the black material which is pretty small. I will bring it with me again to work tomorrow and if you guys want me to come in, I will. I started this whole thing yesterday only because I thought my lump was starting to get ugly and I wanted to document it so you could see how it looks in the end stage when it either breaks or flattens out on its own. I didn't know I was going to be able to capture the whole "green pod" thing like I did. I guess now you can at least visualize what I described before...

I still feel OK. Nothing remarkable other than my right shoulder is achy. I was told before I would get this occasionally because all the nerves around the lower right rib cage area are connected to those of the right shoulder.
